I've worked as a telephone consultant for many years, and it has been quite a journey. I started out working for a couple of the larger telephone reading companies, which was uncomfortable because the values and practices of those companies conflicted with my own ethics, which I am sure my clients shared too.
I ended up running one of the companies that I worked for, working behind the scenes was quite an eye opener, even though it was one of the smaller and more exclusive companies, I was still frustrated and unhappy with the way it was run.
The average clairvoyant/psychic companies have hundreds of readers who they pay only a tiny amount of what you are charged. The Psychics are self employed, and are nothing more to these companies than an ever changing list of names and phone numbers.
I met one psychic who is paid 11p per minute. She uses her mobile phone to do her readings round the back of her busy market stall! She will be paid about £2 from your £35 fee. To her, your reading is worth £2 when it is worth £35 to you. Readers often have to do 15-20 readings per shift just to make ends meet. This makes then burn out and lower the quality of their work. You are worth so much more than that to me, as a reader I feel that this work is special, it is precious, just like you are.
Another issue was that for most companies, success is measured by how long clients are kept on the phone. They constantly badger their readers to 'do better'. They leave voice messages for their readers every day, reminding them they will be taken off their shift if they don't keep callers on the phone long enough. They give their readers daily hints and tips to make you stay on the phone longer, like holding back important information until you are in the last 30 seconds of your reading to keep you there longer. They advise their readers to waffle on about New Age ideas, or talk about themselves to bulk out the reading.
This kind of thing really dilutes the power of a reader's ability. It makes the intention of the reading all about making money instead of the purity and accuracy of the reading. I got very frustrated because I wasn't allowed to make changes to make the company more ethical and heart led. I was sure I could have a different kind of company if I started my own from scratch, so that's what I did.? The choices I've made have all been Heart led. My intention is to to help as many people as possible, and operate on the most authentic, pure and transparent way possible.
